With Covid restrictions this year many Australians have missed their usual overseas trips. We are a travelling nation and frequent flyers. But 2020 and Covid-19 put a stop to that.
The silver lining in these travel restriction has been getting to know our own backyard. I have lived in this area for over 20 years, and today was the first time I actually crossed this walking bridge at Como.
I took my digital camera, first time this year , and took a few snaps. With everything going on around me I had forgotten how much I enjoy just getting out there seeing the world with new eyes. That’s what I love about photography. Seeing the details around us. The things we are too busy to sometimes notice.
Then to finish my photo outing having lunch with a good friend overlooking the water was just the icing on the cake.
Stay safe where ever you are, and don’t forget to keep finding reasons to smile.
Today’s positive…commuting to work or driving to familier places we tend to take the same route; the road we know. But it often means we go on auto pilot and don’t notice our surroundings. Tonight I had dinner with a friend after work which meant a bit of a detour. All of a sudden I noticed the houses, the parks and the shops along my way.
We should change our routines more often. Get out of auto pilot and enjoy the moment.
Today’s positive…How lucky we are to live in a world that allows us to easily communicate with people from anywhere; connecting with strangers we would most likely never have met if not for this digital world; learning about people, places and interesting cultures.
Today’s positive…being privileged to live another year creating beautiful memories with loved ones, meeting strangers now friends and gaining new knowledge through challenges and experiences. Life indeed is one big positive.
Tomorrow I look forward to reading through all my Positive Thoughts for 2018, and starting again for the new 2019.
Thanks for following and inspiring me to continue my writing.
Today’s positive…starting the weekend enjoying a Friday dinner out with a good friend is just the best. I am so lucky to have some really special friends. It’s what makes life sweet and our challenges easier to tackle.
