Today’s positive…my last day in the US.
Thats not really a positive as Im sad to be leaving my daughter. But having a last day means you have been able to have a first day too.
I have so enjoyed being part of her daily life, and the overall positive is that I was able to do just that.
Tonight its back to Sydney for me.
Todays’s positive…a cheeky white fluffy puppy keeping me company while Im home with a sore throat. Being sick on holidays sucks, but he makes me smile.
Today’s positive…loving the view from my office today spending time writing while waiting for sun to come out.
Today’s positive…booked into this gorgeous little cottage for a couple of nights in beautiful Berkeley.
My own little writers retreat. Surrounded by a rambling garden making you feel a hundred miles from city life yet only five minutes walk to cafes. Love it
Getting out of the city is always good and a day spent in Mount Diablo State Park gets you not only fresh country air but mesmerising views as you wind your way up steep roads to 2500feet sharing the road with both cyclist and cars, It’s a slow ride but so worth it.
On the day we ventured into the park the fire danger was very high and the land was very dry but the colours amazing. Yellows, greens, blues and rusty browns in stark contrast to each other coloured the landscape as far as you could see until the hazy fog took over.
The bush reminded me a bit of the Australian bush. The dryness and the spiky tiny leaves characterised by our own native Australian plants.
A picnic in the bush was the icing on the cake in spite of having to share with native bees. Why does food taste so much better in fresh air?
Today’s positive…spending time in beautiful Mount Diablo State Forrest; nature’s colours always amaze.
A must visit place when in the SF Bay area. In spite of the overwhelming crowds its worth the short ferry ride across from pier 33 in San Francisco.
The audio tour guide was well presented; you felt like you were there with the eerie reenactment.
We were lucky to have a sunny day to balance the chills you may experience on the island.
