Mount Diablo State Park

IMG_7286Getting out of the city is always good and a day spent in Mount Diablo State Park gets you not only fresh country air but mesmerising views as you wind your way up steep roads to 2500feet sharing the road with both cyclist and cars, It’s a slow ride but so worth it.

On the day we ventured into the park the fire danger was very high and the land was very dry but the colours amazing. Yellows, greens, blues and rusty browns in stark contrast to each other coloured the landscape as far as you could see until the hazy fog took over.

The bush reminded me a bit of the Australian bush. The dryness and the spiky tiny leaves characterised by our own native Australian plants.

A picnic in the bush was the icing on the cake in spite of having to share with native bees. Why does food taste so much better in fresh air?
